Visiting the Langhe in autumn is a must-do experience, as there is no shortage of memorable tourist destinations. The area combines the pleasures of good food, the beauty of soaring ancient castles, and trees tinged with autumn colors. The Langhe villages are also only a few kilometers apart, making it intuitive to visit them one after another.

La Morra is a celebrated village in the Langhe that offers breathtaking views of the area that are absolutely worth experiencing. This area is famous for the production of Barolo and Barbaresco, so a tasting is a must! There are also several hiking trails leading through the vineyards. Also very pretty is the Bell Tower, dating back to the 1700s. From La Morra we can visit the colorful Chapel of Our Lady of Grace that emerges among the vineyards.

Castiglione Falletto is a charming traditional town, of which the fortress of the Marquis of Saluzzo stands out, which is about a thousand years old!

Cherasco is a traditional town whose stronghold of the Visconti family,the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Popolo and Palazzo Salmatoris,an important cultural and artistic center,should definitely be visited. Home of great chocolate and hazelnut treats to enjoy!

Barolo is a place famous for the exceptional wine produced there. Wine distinguishes the entire village, to the point that it is possible to visit the characteristic Wine Museum, inside the Falletti Castle. The village branches off around Falletti Castle. Monforte d’Alba is a hilltop village, which is reached by walking up steep climbs flanked by medieval walls.

Grinzane Cavour is a village built around the middle of the 11th century that offers us a wonderful view of the Langhe hills. The area’s well-known castle offers fascinating views of the Langhe hills and the excellent Enoteca Regionale Piemontese.
Barbaresco is another characteristic village perched in a defensive position, distinguished by the local tower, which can be traversed by a ladder. Near the Tower is the Church of St. John the Baptist. The place is known for several wineries that allow people to taste the titillating local wines and for the vineyards that brighten the landscape.
The Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco in the Church of San Donato complex is appreciable.

Novello is a quiet destination suitable for those who enjoy sipping good wine in peace and quiet.
Neive stands out as one of Italy’s most distinctive villages: the Clock Tower bears witness to the presence of a castle from the 1200s.
Serralunga d’Alba is a Barolo hamlet towering above a traditional landscape of vineyards and hills creating a bewitching synthesis of natural wonders and man-made works.

Lovers of historical re-enactments should not miss “Pantalera Storica in Costume” on Oct. 12 and “Il borgo si rievoca” on Oct. 20, both in Alba.
