Filippo, a passionate seeker of fresh truffles, carries on a tradition passed down from his beloved grandfather John Baptist, affectionately called “Batista” by the family.
Even as a child, Philip accompanied his grandfather in the search for this precious mushroom, enjoying the scent of the forest and the excitement of following the dog through the trees.
Although he did not fully understand the significance of that underground treasure, the experience deeply fascinated him.
So, he decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and in 2019 certified himself as a truffle hunter in the Piedmont Region. Now, with Dorina, his faithful canine companion, he explores forests during full moon nights, aware of the special link between moon phases and truffle development.
Filippo organizes truffle searches to share with curious people and enthusiasts the excitement of discovering the beauty of nature and the fun of truffle hunting, taking them back in time to feel like children once again.
